What should you do?

•Admit that you have a problem. Find positive, realistic ways to solve it.

•Don’t be afraid to set an audacious goal that seems too difficult to achieve. Nothing great is ever easy to do.

•Take your audacious goal and break it down into manageable milestones in a reasonable time frame.

•Make the public a partner in your mission by showing them the personal and practical impacts on people’s lives of the problem at hand.

•Lead: make the difficult choices to address the problem, whether speed cameras, speed limit reductions, or serious penalties if injuries or death result from negligence.

•Measure your performance and always reevaluate the levers that are most effective to achieve your goals.
